Extended warranties and claims
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:38:07 am »
I know a few people have asked about extended warranties and such but what I'm really after is whether people have claimed on VW's extended warranty.

My own 3-year warranty is coming to a close at the beginning of next year. I'm unsure as to whether to go for it, or whether it's best to use an independent for servicing and using the money saved for any problems.

Would love your input on this please.

I claimed on my vw extended warranty 4times and no issues, was like having a normal one. I didn't renew it as I felt that if there was a big issue it would have shown itself in 4years.

Bought my 2006 car 12months ago from VW with 12months extended 'All Component' warranty.
Claimed on it a few times now, takes a while for the claim to go thru (2-4weeks), but been good for me.
Recently had a NSF driveshaft, new turbo and gearbox mount no questions asked

I have claimed twice on my extended cover ,   both times no quible from dealer .  cost would have been £180. Its been good for me,  did originally go for it , just in case I had any problems with the DSG

I don't have DSG.

How many of you have modded your cars beyond Stage 1?

Did they ever sniff at you for the mods?

Also was it a generic VW warranty? I know listers offered their own warranty on cars bought from them.

lol they love the mods. I got the car from VW and they gave me a years VW extended warranty.

i think its down to who you happen to speak to and what mood they are in.

I keep getting calls from VW. I think they're after my dough for a warranty. So will answer it tomorrow since I've been at work every time they call.
