Paint peeling on Beesting aerial.
« on: January 25, 2011, 09:36:17 pm »
I had my shark fin and beesting aerial colour coded about 6 months ago.

I noticed that the paint had started to come away from the beesting part, so I just peeled it all off.

The sprayer did tell me that this would prob happen because that part of the aerial was like a rubber material and so the paint might not take.

Is there a special paint or something you can use for these rubber surfaces without it peeling again? Or I thought about wrapping it but don't know if that's just a silly idea!

Looks kind of odd at the moment.

^^^

Could be an option but like you said could mess up the signal.

Kind of getting used to it being black now...  :signLOL:

Yes, it's def OEM.

I might be wrong, but I think all newer golfs that had the sat nav unit fitted from factory will have the 2 piece aerial like mine.

i think mandys right rich,  i have the older fin on mine and the radio antenna is the rear window, which was dropped on newer models for the bee sting aerial with fin if you have sat nav from the factory   :happy2:
