hi there, my name is adam and im finally getting rid of my z4 3.0si for a 30 edition now. But not sure if i should go with manual of dsg, as a racing driver using paddels is fine with me but are the dsg paddels quick and sensitive on the downshift like an m3 dkg? Also can you get dsg software to make the changes quicker etc?
With tuning the car can the dsg box take alot of power, as if i bought the manual i would have to buy a race clutch and diff or if the dsg can take the power i will only have to buy a diff.
I've seen some amazing figues on this forum, quarter mile times in the 12's, and 0-100 times faster than v10 m5's.  Some of you are saying 0-100 of 340bhp cars are 11 ish seconds, but i have seen a few pictures on here saying they can do 0--100 in sub 10?????
My friend has a 135i and he's getting a remap to put in up to 360/370bhp, Can a propper modded 30 editon beat a mapped 135i, which is probs around a m3 v8 acceleration??

Main question is i got about 3500 to spend on the motor.
Can you guys give me a list of the perfect mods that will get me to 360bhp (peak hp) and also what remapping company to choose from.
thanks.
adam.

And can be remapped to improve the DSG box drastically.

The best advice i could give you would be to give Steve Jr. a ring at Statllers Sheffield a ring. Both mechanics there have Edition 30's that are over 400hp. They are extremely helpful ( have helped me on numerous occasions!) and will give you all the advice you need. + they can source it all and fit it too  :pomppomp: :pomppomp:

Are you just looking at power mods or to improve the cars handling to accomodate the power?

You can remap a dsg. Look at REVO's site, they explain all about the various stages of dsg tune and also the various stages on the cars ecu tune.

For the power

TBE
HPFP
CAI
FMIC
Remap.

There are loads of other things people have changed to achive the higher figures but I'd look around for more info on those.

I'd deffo be getting better suspension and a WALK, much bigger brakes personally.

Well hurdy was running this on his car on the DSG box, guys like jonnyC also  went big turbo on DSG.  its fine.lowqer power is stage 2+e ther is with a 100shot of nitrous.  he hit 100 in sub 10 iirc as well

ITG intake £350
Autotech HPFP £300
3" Downpipe/sports cat £500
Forge twintercooler £500
REVO stage 2+ £600
TT lower control arms £300
Whiteline Rear ARB £150
Whiteline anti lift kit £140
THS engine mounts £150
DaveB's porker 4 pot brembo 312 conversion £500

that would be a very good way of spending £3500.  Powers useless of you just spin it away

Here you go

GIAC Stage 3 (Revo Stage 2+ equivlent), so HPFP, TBE, Intake, FMIC and software... V's

Modded E39 M5 (440+bhp)

Modded 135i

E46 M3 (Missed gear, but still got it's ass on a platter anyway   )..

Still can't help but be impressed with what a modded KO4 can compete against TBH  :surprised: As you will notice, these aren't a short blast either and speeds get to around 150+  AND IT'S A HEAVY ASS 5 DOOR MANUAL!!!

bugger they user has removed those videos.  Well essentially there was a fully modded 135i, a modded M5 V8 and a M3 V8.  all got beaten from a rolling start by a stage 2+ golf

I can only echo what the guys on here have already said. :happy2:

The Edition 30 is a great car and personally I prefer the DSG.

Mine had a damn sight more than £3.5k spent on it though. I cracked into the 12's on the 1/4 mile without nitrous, but for me it was as much about the handling with modifications as the straightline speed.

Here's a clip on the Nurburgring of mine (before nitrous!), 2 up and running at about 90% of what she could do (passenger in car and an intermittent spark plug fault kept the speed down a little)

Golf R gone.
