My 56 plate GTI has developed warped tyres all around
- I'm gutted, as I only put two new vredesteins on the front in November. The backs are still the original continentals which will need changed anyway.
So I got a 4 wheel alignment done at the weekend. I couldn't believe how far off the alignment was from the Chorgi wheel aligners preset for the GTI. The back was toed in massively!
The car now drives much the same to be honest, but feels a bit more together over the rough stuff. Hopefully my tyres will wear evenly now.
My plan is to put the vreds that are on the front currently onto the back, as they still have loads of tread left, and buy a new set of vreds for the front. Question is though, once tyres are 'warped' as my tyre fitter described them, do they ever become less warped?? if the tracking/alignment has been corrected? or will I need 4 new vredesteins?
