Clutch Failure
« on: April 09, 2011, 08:16:48 pm »
Evening all.  Just had my 2006 gti recovered by the RAC because the clutch went.  Just changed down to third and the clutch went to the floor.  It came back up but will not engage now. No warning no smell.  I know it's hydraulic but anyone any ideas what it could be.  Gutted only had the car 2 months. I bought it from VW and I have a years warranty.  Many thanks.

Slave cylinder, there are two.....one behind the pedal and one around the clutch assy. Mine went, cost £600 notes from a VW specialist.
