Luke's Tornado Red GTI
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:06:33 pm »
Been on here for a while so as I've started actually making my car my own i thought id make a build thread. I got my GTI about a year ago quite a upgrade from my MK5 1.9tdi Match 105bhp. It came in as a P/X at work and got it for a really good price and was really well spec'ed swell.

I live in Bournemouth See quite a few GTI's round town wounded if any of you are on here.

So to the car is:

2006 Tornado Red DSG with MFD2 Sat Nav with CD Changer, Full Leather, Xenons, High line Display, Steering wheel controls, Heated Seats, Power fold Mirrors and Monza 2 Alloys with Full VW Main Dealer or Specialist Service History

So this first pic is on my old TDI all i really did to it was Lower it and put it on some RS4 reps was good fun while i had it and really reliable considering it had 120k on it.

Where the GTI was a P/X at work I had it for a week or so before deciding I 100% wanted it (one of the perks of the job i guess :happy2:) would have been rude not to have a pic of the 2 together

So when id sorted all the paperwork out and it was officially mine I went down to the sea front and took a few pics this is my favourite one

After getting a few weeks of whizzing around out the way i got the clay bar out and gave her a good clean and Wax

I was really happy with how it came up needs a good detail to get rid of some swirls but that will happen in the future

Was really impressed with the beading of the Kleen Freaks wax

Then id tinted the Fog lights yellow and smoothed my front grill and stuck magnets to my plate and the grill. Loved how it looked without the plate until some pikey F**K stole it one evening while i was out.

Ive seemed to have collected a lot of cleaning pics so heres a few after trying out some Auto Glym HD was nice and glossy finish

Had a R8 in work for a while heres a pic of it waiting to go to its new owner

2 months ago i decided i wanted abit more out of the car and got Revo'ed and what a difference its like a different car couldn't recommend it enough. 3 weeks after having the map done the guy at the garage the mapped the car poped up on Facebook and offered me a Miltlek down pipe and ITG intake at a bargain price so then the GTI was at stage 2 and sounds awesome even with the standard cat back.

So that is all i have done so far.

i have a big todo list

Stage 2 + (High Pressure Fuel Pump and S3 Intercooler)
Big Brake Kit
Walk Kit
Revo PCV
Upgrade Engine Mounts
Anti Roll Bars
Coilovers

and Cosmetically

Sort the white worm out
Colour code lowers and bumpers
sort out paint swirls and little marks

Let me know what your thoughts are and any suggestions :)
