de-cat/larger downpipe...
« on: July 10, 2011, 01:47:46 pm »
Hi,

I'm going to be getting my mk5 1.9tdi remapped come september (thats when student loan comes through!) and i wanna use the summer to do a few choice mods to get the most out of the re-map come re-map time

Been hearing its worth it to get a de-cat done, but also having a larger bore downpipe will help things along also, what do people recommend and can anyone perhaps recommend someone in the Birmingham area where i can get this done at a reasonable price?

currently the golf's on 143,600 miles or thereabouts and increases by 300-350 miles per week, turbo's running sweet as it was replaced by vw at 106,000 miles or thereabouts and the clutch and flywheel will be replaced before the remap too. injectors were all replaced at 133,000 miles also...

anything else I ought to look out for?

cheers

Generally a 2.50" downpipe with the cat removed will allow the car to be wound on to around 200bhp
Also worth knowing that the GTi system will fit on for a sportier look
We can do the work for you if required.

Hi Nige,

How much would you charge to fit the downpipe and de-cat my golf? I'd be travelling up from Birmingham unless you have some more local to me who could do the fitting.

Would it be possible for you to remove the manifold and give it a clean whilst the car's with you?
cheers

Hi there
We would be looking at £200.00 fitted for the down pipe and de cat
Sadly we cannot strip and clean the inlet manifold.
best regards
