Hi everyone. I need to program a spare key to my mk5 golf on an 07 plate, 2007 model with the highline dis.

I am trying to buy the right transponder key for the remote so I can take on the next stage of programming.

I've been told the Immobiliser types changed in 2007 therefore my chip is going to be different then those commonly available from eBay!

My dash is the later one which says SAFE in the middle in the event of a non coded key attempting to start the car!

Can someone please post a link to where I can purchase one from?

Thank u for all your help in advance!  :happy2:

My advice is get the correct fob from VW and get them or someone like Shark Performance to code it for you.
Without traction power is nothing!

Thanks for the suggestion.

I took the cheaper option of getting a spare key. as I have already. got the key cut and remote programme I only need to get hold of the right transponder in order to get my spare key to fully work.

Had anyone ever done this before? and of so where did they get the transponder from? thanks

I bought my transponder chip for £11 off eBay and although I coded it myself, the dealer should be able to code a virgin transponder?

My transponders were about £11 each. The guys are very helpful if you need to call them too.

Oops!! Sorry, that should've been Hickleys. I hate autocorrect. Good job it was nothing dodgy.
