Ed30 - lowering recommendation - r32 centre exhaust wanted
« on: August 26, 2011, 12:52:26 am »
Not wanting to spend much cash due to being just a weekend toy!

Lowering- I live the feel standard not to hard but not to soft just want it to handle a little better while being a little lower 30mm ish

Exhaust- I really want a centre r32 exhaust can I just change the valance to acomadate the centre exhaust or do I have to go and get a new r32 bumper!

Any help would be great :)

H&R springs FTW :happy2:

Ride is slightly firmer on them but you only notice it over the worst bumps. Handling is improved and the car sits perfectly - slightly lower than the eibach's

I think you have to change to the lower valance on the rear bumper for an R32 one. You'll also need:

- The black insert bit that goes around the pipes,
- Two reflectors, one for each corner
- Two small inner arch extensions so the GTI inner arches meet the R32 valance
- possibly the R32 foam bit that goes behind the valance bumper. Think the GTI one is too big.

As always I hope somebody else will come along and confirm this.

HTH  :happy2:

You will need to buy the lower valance mate, they are around £200 from the dealers, then £90 for the lower black plastic, and £15 per reflector.
A Milltek backbox is around £450 new, or you can get a custom one made cheaper from a number of places.
The ED30 bumper will not allow you to fit the exhaust, unless you fancy some filling and plastic welding to move the gaps to the centre.
