Bulbs for standard headlights
« on: October 09, 2011, 08:21:13 pm »
Hi guys, I've got a parking light out and thought it might be a good opportunity to upgrade my standard bulbs.

Anyone got any recommendations? Quite like the sound of the Philips Blue Vision bulbs...

powerbulbs.com tells you the setup. I ordered some Xtreme bulbs for the mains and dipped, and got the sidelights for free. PITA to change them though.

Balls, I hoped that it wouldn't be too difficult :fighting:

The indicators, mains and dipped are all easy. The sidelights mean you end up with cuts and scrapes.

Is it just an awkward angle to get your hand in?

Nice, the Blue Vision Ultra H7 come with free Blue Vision sidelights and free delivery

I guess upgrading the main (high) beam is pretty pointless?

Depends on how you feel. I didn't want them to mismatch so bought another set of H7 for them.

I fitted Ring Xenon max and they're good, but I found the Philips xtreme to have a crisper white light. Ring's offering were a fari bit cheaper though!

Night breakers. I was torn between the Philips X-treme and the Osrams. Went for the former but the latter are equally good.

I changed mine to the Philips Blue Vision yesterday and I have to say, I'm very happy with them. Vision is improved and they have a far more pleasing colour to them. I was a little concerned because the sidelight bulb is full blue, but that doesn't translate when the lights are on, it's just a nice white light.

And changing them was very easy I thought. You just need some long nose pliers to help get to the sidelights.
