brief rattle on startup
« on: April 09, 2012, 02:47:41 pm »
My mk5 on odd occasions gives a brief rattle on start up. Like you  may used to experience from a mk2 golf when the tappets were wearing and they let you know for a split second till they filled with oil.

But it sounds different from the tappety noise I remember.?

Any ideas folks. Poss fuel pump cam follower?

I hear it sometimes too, for half a second or so, specially if car's been parked on a upwards-facing hill...something related to oil taking a second or two to reach top of the engine
