Brake warning light issue

I changed all pads and discs just over a year ago, so was a little surprised when the check brakes warning popped up. Anyhow next time I started car there was no warning, so just thought it was a glitch. Anyhow on the way to work this morning after accelerting hard the warning light popped up again. Any body got any ideas, I've done just 10000 miles since I changed the brakes.

Lose connection or damaged sensor wire would be my guess.

Pop the front wheels off and have a check.

Well it's a damaged sensor wire, not sure if I can repair with resoldering, anybody had it replaced before and how much?

The simple ghetto fix is to just short the wire and the light should go out. It's not dangerous to do though you'll have to visually inspect your pad thickness at intervals.

The more eloquent fix is to turn off the warning light in vcds.

Failing that does anyone know how much a new sensor cable and fitting will be?

I posted the part number a while ago but I havent access to it at the mo. It costs about £25 in total.

I bought the part as advised but when I took it to my local garage, they managed to repair the cable and I took the part back. Cost me £25 and light is gone!

He said that I might need a new cable when I next replace the discs but since I literally just had them done it wasn't a problem.
