i think there has been some confusion over:

the wipers being in valet mode

the wipers being lifted away from the screen.

Ignition on, ignition off then remove key then immediately press the wiper arm down and the wiper arms will move to the valet position in the centre of the screen! Simples 

I knew I would get it in the wrong sequence! Its easy when you know how, but trying to remember something you do without thinking!
