@ bandella:

Do you know that you may be able to get your coilpacks upgraded under 'warranty'? - VW had an official free check and upgrade if not the latest revision.

How come you went for the g diverter valve?

After extensive online research on the original Ed30 DV and problems that owners experienced after remap the G was the best option - revised oem part. I even looked at the forge DV and there was a post on another forrum were the results were no different  compared to the genuine vw D DV. Honestly made a massive difference to the boost and power not to mention the fuel economy. The diaphram on the original DV was prone to splitting but the G also has a diaphram-the results show the new revised DV was a better quality from VW

I went to vw and they did a check on the car and said it did not fall under the recall even though it was for the same year :sad1:

I've just fitted 4 new coil packs to try fixing my problem which seemed exactly the same as your going off the symptoms you mention. Unfortunately mine still does exactly the same and hasn't fixed :(

Check plugs, any leaks that may cause a boost leak, did you check the diverter valve. I used my car today after the weekend work replacing 4 new coils and also put a new set of plugs in, checked my diverter valve again as i have the car remapped. Awesome driving today driving between 50-60mph, stop start round abouts, traffic lights and i am getting and average of 32mpg. I would say for me personally now that the car has reached 58k i will be doing regular maintenace to ensure efficiency. i think u need a process of elimination then work methodically from there. These engines are tfsi engines are built like nothing else.

Plugs have been changed for the colder running ones, had the G diverter valve fitted even though the original looked perfectly fine and now have 4 brand new coil packs even though the ones fitted were done so sometime in 2011 under the recall. I've had a look around for leaks but still nothing standing out. I'm getting the engine speed sensor changed as that's coming up on my VCDS and then if it's still the same after that, which I suspect it will be, I'll then have to go with a HPFP I think or get the injectors looked at in detail but so far Awesome GTi haven't found any explanation for the symptoms which is annoying!
