Cost of building a double garage
« on: June 29, 2012, 06:01:59 pm »
Bit random I know and you're probably thinking go ask a builder, but I don't own the house yet so its hard to get a quote

Has anybody recently had a brick double batcave garage built and can give me the idea on costs, planning regs etc. I'm looking at buying a house with an integral garage but its on a large plot with plenty of room to build my dream garage and then convert the integral garage into a witches den office for the misses

No worries mate one of them is OB construction and the other is craft work construction. They are both in westhoughton, and Carl from craftwork may and I say may do all the brickwork as a foreigner for you but I'd have to check. Just let me know how you get on and of you'd like any formal quotes etc if you go ahead with the house. Last time I checked about a single garage it was around the £2500-3k figure.

I reccon you are looking at 10-12 k for a decent build wired and ready to go !
Probably about 6-7k if you want a basic double with a felt roof wired and ready to go !

You are looking at 3-5k for a double concrete slab garage! They aint cheap !!!

My mate just paid 7k for a decent single !

You don't need planning app or permission if it's detached. Can only cover 50% of the total sq ft of land available to you in your plans iirc.

My brother has been quoted £17k i think for a double garage. We both live in Westhoughton so Il tell him to try them to see if they are any cheaper!
