MP4 Movies on mobiles etc

I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I want to download a few films for it. I've tried all sorts of downloads for converting a DVD into a MP4 and torrents for movies I have already bought but just can't seem to figure it out?

Can anyone advise me?
