the aircon will still work but when my eng was up to temp and aircon on, the big fan would be going very fast, making a racket and the smell of electrics burning. Since i replaced my small fan all is good.

Oh rite, well ive been quoted £125 + VAT for the part alone, which im assuming is the small fan only, and thats not including labour (which is even more than figure above), although also having thermostat and coolant sensor fitted (im procuring parts), and full Vagcom check! Will have to look at that link u kindly supplied, as thats much cheaper!
