Tyre choice...Goodyear 4 Seasons??
« on: August 03, 2012, 06:50:38 pm »
Hi,

The missus is going to need some front tyres quite soon, I have done the usual trawl through Blackcircles/etyres/kwikfit and keep coming up with the same type of tyres. goodyear, michellin, falkon etc........

My question is which tyre would you choose for a basic 1.9 TDI run around?

They are all roughly in the same price bracket (£150 ish fitted) so that doesnt come into it, so is there a preferable make?

205/55/16

thanks

I'd avoid the Falken personally

It's not just down to brand though, each particular tyre has strengths and weaknesses.

Conti Sport contact 2. I had them in 205 55 16 on my olf mk5 and they were great. Good around tyre and last a fair while too!

well I have been doing some investigation and im looking into 2 x Goodyear Vector 4 seasons tyres for the front.

Has anyone any thoughts positive or negative on these tyres?

It has 4x Uniroyal rain experts at the moment but they seem a little bit budget tyre (corrct me if im wrong) and the missus just loves safety!

All views welcome! :happy2:

Why not try uniroyal rain sports. Well priced tyre. Good in dry and grip very well in the wet. Wear rate is good too. More than enough for a basic golf driven normally

Another vote for the rain sports, i've had a set albeit on my Renault Kangoo van and found them perfectly fine in all weathers  :happy2:
