Your thoughts please - Steel Grey with black bits
« on: June 11, 2009, 09:44:55 pm »
I know this guy that used to do wheel refurbs. I got in contact with him as the clowns at Costco managed to damage 2 of my wheels recently when they changed my tyres. He has supplied the quote and they have coughed up already.
He now owns a bodyshop and has come forward with a few ideas for my car.

Gloss black wheels
Gloss black splitter and rear valance
Possibly wing mirrors

Followed up with tints

He has a wheel that he can show me tomorrow but I am having trouble visualising the rest.
Heres a pic of my car if some of you photoshop gurus want to have a pop.

Any thoughts and comments before I take the plunge. :chicken:

PS. He also mentioned doing the honeycomb in gloss black to match the mask.

Sounds familiar , gloss black alloys, lee's car has gloss back. Not sure if thats too dark, or you will need to break the all black look with something else.
Perhaps photoshop a photo from S.C onto yours. Have a look on Scirocco centrals website for some pics posted of lees car.

Not a fan of black wheels so I would refrain from doing the wheels , but the other mods sound good.

I saw the gloss black finish wheels today and they do look quite good.

I think for anything else I will end up having them wrapped as he knows a man who can for that as well.

I think all of it would look the nuts! The black contrast on the front/rear splitter works so well - especially on ED30's.

The wheels are a love/hate thing really. Personally I think black wheels would look fantastic on your Ian, but its really down to you. Whereas the bumpers are a no-brainer!

Honeycombe - hmm not too sure if its worthwhile!

The honeycomb was just because he wanted to challenge himself.

As for the rest I think I will go with gloss black wheels and then get the front splitter and rear valance vinyl wrapped to match.
