Which diverter valve?
« on: October 04, 2012, 08:56:16 am »
Hi

Looking to get a new dv, just wondering which is best for the ed 30, d or g?

whats the difference between them apart from d being piston and g being a diaphragm valve?

Thanks

Revision G in my opinion. It's git a rubber seal so it should I'm theory hold boost better (providing the diaphragm isn't torn)

Thanks for the reply.  Does that mean the g has a higher chance of failure over the d due to the diaphragm splitting?

I answered on your other thread you opened in the wrong section. The G has been revised and is a much stronger unit now. I had a D fitted but they can leak even from new. Rtech did some leak testing and found out that. The G has a rubber seal of the piston which creates amuch better seal. Since fitting a G my car holds boost better and feels much more livlier to drive than with the D.

I'll be ordering one of these soon,
So G is the way to go then?
I'll be getting a stage one remap

Hi all just wondering what does the diverted valve actually do and will there be any benefit adding one to a standard car as a first performance mod - got more plans for next year

The diverter valve is standard on all 2.0 TFSI engines. However they have been revised and uodated a few times as the old ones used to fail. It might be worth seeing what revision dv you have and consider updating it to a G if you are going the remap route.

Probably cat back, induction kit, intercooler and a remap but it might take me a while to get them all on
