Kw v1 or bilstein b14
« on: May 03, 2015, 03:51:12 pm »
Was saving for b14 coilies but kW's recent offer is tempting.
Anybody ran both or been in cars with both much difference between the 2?

My car is a dsg edition 30 with TBE with decat and evoms intake remap next month so looking at upgrading suspension. And brakes if some pop up!

Havnt had both but have much experience with the KW V1's and they're very very good, excellent ride and build quality and the car handles much better.

I've had both KW V3 and Bilstein B16 on the same car, and only thing i can recommend is Bilstein. I will never get a KW setup again.

Over the top mod list ;o)

What makes the bilstein so much better?

There's a recap here:

Bilstein upsides:
metal height adjusters with a hole for the tool. also height adjustment lock is 2 metal discs that is tightened contra eachother. They are upside down design for lower  unsprung weight, also it's possible to adjust rebound/compression with the suspension on the car as opposed to the KW V3 that needs to be removed to be adjusted. Also the ride is so much more composed with Bilstein  :happy2:

Bilstein... They have a ring sticker on for good reason, plus with a quick google it seems kw coils have been known to leak in the past.

KW Denmark wouldn't acknowledge any flaws on the design of the KW V3 when i approached them  :fighting:

I couldn't agree more but the above isn't the kind of after sales help you'd want. But before you say it... I realise this is just one particular occasion.
