Rcd510 won't recognise an mdi kit
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:54:22 pm »
Bought an mdi glovebox kit and installed it today all nice and simple, no hassle at all

Switched the rcd510 back on expecting to see an toon on the media screen for my iPod.

Nothing at all had changed. So I went into the settings and activated the aux option on the media screen,  still nothing.

My rcd510 is a Chinese one. I'd rather not get a lecture on right and wrong about buying stuff from abroad via ebay. It was very cheap and I am happy with it so far.

Does anyone know if they have the capability of running an mdi even if its not switched on yet or am I doomed to have to pay the extortionate prices for a uk model?

Is it a vcds coding issue or just not possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Which version you have ? Some of these chinese ones have mdi built in ie you only need a usb lead that goes in the back ...

This photo shows the difference on Asian rcd510 units
