Fitting Towbar electrics
« on: July 28, 2013, 12:40:14 pm »
Hi all,

Hope someone could help me out on this topic... As daft as it seems I've fitted a quick release tow bar to my gti and need advice/ guidence on getting the electrics hooked up.

Does anyone know if I require a Relay? or could it literally be wired up to the lights?

This is my first towbar and im a little clueless

Appreciate any help if someone has had experience with this or could share some photos.

Thanks,
  Richard

I removed a towbar a few days ago and the wiring I took out went from the towbar and into some sort of switch box and then joint to the rear lights.

Right, bought a relay box which I've connected to the towbar electrics as instructed, then I connected all wires up from the relay box to relevant wires, earthed it and fed to a live feed but didn't work...

Then all my lights stopped working. Anyone know where I'm going wrong? Once I removed all the wiring things were back to normal

Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Richard
