"McKeann's" Balck mk5 GTi enhancement
« on: March 23, 2013, 11:56:12 am »
I was contacted by the owner showing interest in the enhancement detail offer that can be found here

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,25335.0.html

Unfortunately no pre detail pictures were taken of the car, the pictures start from when the car was inside after all the usual safe wash, decontamination etc.

This wash an enhancement detail, so some defects would be left behind as it wasn't a correction detail.

A few 50/50 pictures... Scholls s17+ with a blue 3m was used, a truly awesome polish!!

B pillar done with chemical guys grey waffle and menzerna final finish

As you can see some defects left behind

Back to paint work

Once the car was fully polished and dusted down, chemical guys extreme top coat was applied via DA, the tyres and arches were dress and wheels sealed with poorboys.
The car was waxed with Victoria's concours and final wipe down with Zaino Z-8.
Exterior glass was done with carlack and trims with Megs ASD.

Finished pictures....

Sorry about the lack of pictures, but as you can see snow was on the ground and it was well into the minus. Brrrr.

Thanks for looking
Craig

Really chuffed with it Craig, thanks again

Just a shame it got filthy when i drove it home, but my main reason for doing it was to make it easier to keep clean in the longer term.

A few friends are interested so i'll pass on your number

Cheers

Neil

Thanks for that Neil, really appreciate it mate. Sorry it's not the best write up in the world, but I hardly got any pictures due to being frozen solid  :scared:

I can imagine.  I only lasted about 5 minutes of talking to you before i retreated to the car to warm up.  Would have loved to stay for a blether but i could tell you wanted to get home to warm up.

What do you think the guys on Scottish Elise's would say if they saw this thread!? :signLOL:

Very nice looking car with a great spec, was tempted myself when I saw it for sale. Looks even better now.   :happy2:

I've owned a lotus elise previously, and way back then, my idea of detailing was to give it a rub down with a scouring pad to get rid of the gravel trap marks

I also have a bit of a reputation on the forum for breaking cars and not caring for them  :ashamed:

But i'm a changed man now.  honest  :innocent:

Does the scholl's polish work well on DA application Craig? I've never used it before.

Not personally tried it, However seen it used in other forums to achieve great results.
