Confused by all this. I was under impression for immobiliser etc and coding car needs to be present?
Ive asked Eddie-NL so will let update this when I hear back

You can remove your clocks and send both sets to either Eddie or Kalu. Or..
You can drive to either Eddie or Kalu and have it done in situ, or anyone local. Or..
You can use an unofficial cable on both of your particular (early mk5) clusters and DIY fit them with immo and mileage correction.
Anyone with VCDS can get them sorted then?

Also you mention early clusters, are there different menus on later clocks?

No mate, you need a bit more than a VCDS cable. IIRC it's a vag commander cable or the like  :happy2:

Yeah sorry thats what I meant. Vag commander.
Theres someone local who can get it sorted. If not it will be eddie or kalu.

Just wondering about late clusters vs early clusters and what the differences are....

The immo type is different hence why later ones are harder to DIY.

Menu's are driven from other modules installed such as the CCM.

Very early clusters (ending 0 or 1) work with a MFSW without a Menu button. You have xx2 clocks so nothing to worry about there.

There are hundreds of threads about this on various forums including on here, worth finding them for a read.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
