Lets talk brakes : fluid !

wanted to ask a question of our resident gurus but didnt want to mess up the current 
Lets talk brakes: Grooved & drilled vs Grooved thread..

So what type of brake fluid ? OE VW  or other and reference to DOT specs ?? (TT also claimed abs issues ??)
General fast road with occasional track day

to go with my Pagid Blue pads / OE discs Im about to buy   :happy2:

Motul RBF 600 has never let me down so far on the last 3 cars.

John let us know when you will be doing your fitting and i will pop round and drink your tea and eat your hobnobs give you a hand, i need to learn how to swap pads out for track days so dont mind passing you the spanners.  :happy2:

Also  seperate advise from MR Danza. The chap who is fitting my kit next Monday also advised using the Motul RBF 600  :happy2:

I'm going to put ATE Super Blue Racing fluid in mine this week, its a dot 4 spec that hasn't let me down before.

Its not as good as Motul RBF 600 but its not far off and half the price.

If you were to flush out old brake fluid, how much new fluid would you looking at buying? 1L? 1.5L?

1 litre for a fluid change on all cars, regardless of make or model.  One reason I use Ate, its blue in colour so you can see when the old stuff's out.

For those with cars still in warrantly, having blue fluid is something that's going to stick out like a sore thumb... just something to be aware of.

I understand what you guys are saying but VW cannot invalidate your warranty as it has the same specification as the VW fluid.  Its like putting Castrol Edge in your car instead of the official VW/Fuchs oil.

I've got Motul RBF 600 in my car at present, but the way DaveB put it to me is if VW brake fluid is good enough for the Veyron, Lambos and the R8, as well as the RS4, RS6, TT-RS then it'll be good enough for my A3.

Teutonic Tamer said that the VW brake fluid exceeds the DOT4 spec anyway.

All this info together means I think I'm likely to stick with VW OEM fluid in future. Why risk knackering my ABS pump for a negligible increase in braking performance?
