Yes the aux belt tensioner was what I was referring too!

This alternator clutch noise was coming and going for weeks but couldn't pin point it so just fitted the part - now no more intermittent noise - by the way I bought the tool which made it an easy install!

Sorry for the late reply, yes my issue happens during the same rev range. am i best taking it to a garage or should i change the tensioner and belt?
