How to change a head unit

Tools:
T20 Bit + screw driver
Stubby T20 screwdriver
Small trim removal tool

All the screws that need to be removed are T20 torx screws.

First remove the sensor on the top of the air vent.

Then remove the top part of the vent. There is one screw located where the sensor wire comes out. Its not obvious its in there.

Now remove the main body of the air vent, do this by lifting it towards you.

There are now 2 screws that need removing.

I didn’t remove the airbag or hazard switch, so the main air vent section can just sit on the dash.

2 screws need to be removed off the head unit fascia. Then very gently start pulling the fascia towards you (starting from the top). It has several clips on it, do this carefully as they can easily snap off.

This will reveal the last 4 screws that need removing.  Then the head unit will slide out.
