Slow and difficult to start
« on: December 28, 2014, 09:00:18 pm »
Hi,

Got a slight problem with the Golf GTI. Firstly, it seems to turn over very slowly. It's a new battery but it's almost like the battery is discharging ever so slightly. We have the RCD 5-0 fitted, but we updated the gateway and recoded it, so it shouldn't be the battery drain issue. With the battery drain issue, how quickly does the battery drain? It's never discharged completely, but it's definitely not spinning over as quickly as it should be.

Secondly, it's a bit reluctant to start. It turns over for a while and then clatters into life slowly. If I open the throttle slightly it starts up quickly and easily. Surely it should start easily without having to open the throttle. Any ideas why this would be the case? It otherwise runs very well and produced good power at R-Tech.

Thanks,

Dan
