RNS510 Track times show AVR
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:54:56 pm »
Hey all,

I put some of my mp3's on the SD card for the car, most of the tracks are perfect but there are the odd few that instead of the track time showing it shows AVR or something like that and the progress bar does nothing. The tracks still play well though but does anyone know what causes this?

Cheers

I think it's 'VBR' which means the mp3 was created with a 'variable bit rate' instead of a fixed one, eg 320bps.  The RNS510 therefore doesn't know how long is left.

Ah fair enough. Now you've said what it is there appears to be a few posts on Variable Bit Rate, they just don't come up when searching for VBR.
Thanks again.
