Incorrect oil level
« on: August 01, 2015, 07:57:16 pm »
Hi all just a quick one, would to much oil cause the engine managment light to come on, just had an oil change and on the way home the lovely little light decided to make an appearance, grabbing at straws really just wondered if anybody's had the same issue

possibly if the sensors detected an over pressure situation.   obviously need to whip out the dipstick and check but ideally you shouldnt drive the car with an oil pressure warning light

It's only showing the engine managment, had the no oil pressure flag up about 8000 miles ago had the sump off and changed the oil pick up pipe job done. Oils barely over min mark maybe 5mm the most just seems strange the light hasn't been on for a long time and pops on when it's been serviced could be a coincidence

Perhaps if it's just been serviced the oil removal (& crap) & subsequent fresh oil may have dislodged crap - just a thoery

Co-incidence. Engine light wouldn't come on due to over filling of oil by a few MM on the dipstick. If you put 5.1 L instead of 5L it's not going to break it. If you put 7L in then yes... lol
