Cars cutting out, any ideas?
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:55:02 pm »
Hi guys, after a bit of advise. My cars a 2006  gti dsg  axx engine. The car just dies I lose all throttle when under load. It's perfect in everyday driving but if I drive it hard just cuts out for anything up to ten seconds then goes again. It done this ages ago and was the can follower, could it be the high pressure pump? It's stage 1 mapped. Only fault codes showing is dsg speed sensor and clutch temperature. I've recently had the dsg megatronics replaced and gearbox is driving perfectly but I'm thinking of getting it mapped aswell. Any ideas would be great thank you.

Perhaps try logging it while driving hard and see if there are any clues?

Sounds like you may already have a VCDS cable, but if not, you can buy a "ELM327" type bluetooth OBD2 dongle for a few quid on ebay, then use an app called "Torque OBD2" on an android phone to do the logging.
