Dual mass flywheel or fixed flywheel ? 2.0 TDI
« on: November 13, 2015, 09:57:56 am »
Hi all. Getting loads of problems now with the clutch and fly wheel. The last owner had a Sachs 3 paddle clutch, Sachs dmf

I don't want the 3 paddle clutch & the fly wheel is making some nasty noises.

He told me to fit a fixed fly wheel as there are stronger. Is there down side of changing from a dual mass to a fixed ?

All the best.

You mean an SMF (Single Mass Flyhweel)

If so then no, do not fit one to a diesel. Just look for 'SMF Diesel' on youtube to hear the horrific noise they make at idle / low speed. Fit a new standard clutch and DMF
