HID flickering
« on: January 20, 2016, 11:54:06 am »
Hi there,

There is a HID kit fitted to my mk5 golf GTI and I'm having an issue with one of the lights

Sometimes when I turn the lights on the light will flicker for a short while then go out. I then turn lights off and on and it will do the same until a time where I turn the lights on and it stays on

1 of the lights works perfectly fine but 1 has this rather annoying fault

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem with mine. I guess its down to the canbus system as I have the 'bulb out' warning on the dash. Maybe try a different ballast or get some in line resistors?

Agreed. The solution is to have proper headlights. 'HID' kits don't improve visibility (people fail to understand the difference between kelvin and lumens) and they look stupid. Anytime I see one, I think it is a co*k driving.
