R32 pedal feel?
« on: March 30, 2017, 07:45:29 pm »
OK, I've had some trouble with my brakes but now have a shiny new r32 front brake setup but I have a question about how it should feel.

How should my pedal feel now? Im only just bedding in pads and discs so dont want to do any hard braking but my pedal feels 'progressive' compared to my gti brakes. I press down and braking starts immediately but it feels like I have more graduation in the pedal, so I have more control of my braking power. There is certainly no travel in the pedal before I start braking, just feels a bit like the braking effect occurs over more pedal travel. I can still brake to a standstill easily and the bit when I do press more firmly is impressive.

I bled the brakes, 200mls or so from each caliper using a pressure system but dont have a VCDS for ABS flush.

Basically, with new brakes, discs and pads I'm not sure how my brakes should feel. I can stop myself and I dont have the empty pedal travel I associate with air in the lines but I read about the 'r32 pedal' and wondered if I should bleed again looking for a firmer pedal?
