Rear wiper delete
« on: April 02, 2016, 09:25:09 pm »
So I would like to attempt the rear wiper delete tomorrow, I've looked around and can see removing the wiper itself seems easy enough. Though time consuming dependent on how difficult it is to wiggle it free of corrosion.

I can't really find many good guides anywhere though about the motor removal.
I've seen the one on Pelican, but that is just for replacing the motor.

Anyone advise if just zip tying the cables together is all that needs doing? Do I need to block anything off etc.
I have the gecleant glass stop to put in the rear windscreen, but do I need to plug up anything the other side (inside) as well?
I don't want to get right the way through to then find I haven't got everything needed for a clean finish.

Did you get this sorted? From memory the motor is held in with a couple of 10mm bolts. You'll need to plug the washer pipe with something and then ideally someone with vcds to deactivate the washer from the stalk. As for the blanker you'll need glass sealant to go around it to stop any leaks. This come with mine in the kit.

Nah I never got round to doing it today in the end.
Whats the best thing to plug the end of the washer pipe?

If I remember right I think I used the one of the fixing bolts for the motor and just blocked it with that. As long as you're careful not to use it on the stalk though you needn't worry too much

once you unplug the wiper, the washer pump is automatically deactivated so all you've got to do is block it up and leave it nice and tidy. Its an easy job. The hardest part is removing the plastic trim from the inside of the hatch  :happy2:
