DSG Mechatronics Unit Location
« on: June 24, 2016, 08:08:44 pm »
I believe my DSG mechatronics unit is on it's way out and rather than pay VW lots of my money to replace it, I want to do it myself. Am I right in thinking that it's located on the front of the gearbox (towards the front bumper) which would require the removal of the front bumper, radiator and intercooler to get clear access to it?

If so, I'll plan some other modifications to be done at the same time... Never look at something in a bad way, me..!

Bloody legend, thanks! Will check out my DSG further to see if it is faulty or whether it just needs a settings reset but if I need to change it, I now have the info. Doesn't look too difficult to be honest, fail to see why VW charge so much?! Less work than a new radiator or intercooler by the looks of it.

Again, massive thanks. Interestingly, over night when it was cooler and also in the mornings when I first start the car it drives fine. I'm wondering if it's getting too hot in this weather, thinking of opening up the grill in front of the DSG a bit to allow some better airflow to the box.

Also going to check my throttle pedal out as I have a crazy idea that the position sensor may be a bit dodgy as the engine likes to randomly either not deliver enough power or too much...
