Where can I find the latest software update for the RNS 510?

I have currently software version 5270 and the hardware version is H10.

Which version have you got? If not R or similar doesn't worth to update, as 5270 almost up to date and no changes.

Hardware version on screen says H10. Is there somewhere else I need to check?

How do you find out which version you have? I tried holding the setup button for a while but only gives me some radio settings.

Heard there should be a way through VCDS but can't see that either.

You need to enable the secret menu through vcds.  I think its channel 50 in adaptation and u set it in there.

Doesn't need to do anything if your firmware is higher than 3xxx to check the version. Will be old firmware with old maps. Secret menu is additional option. To know which version is your rns, hold setup button will appear fm am and third one information or smth like that.

Enabled the secret menu and the Version number ends with a C
How ever when I remove the unit the part number is 1T0 035 680 A, does this mean it was model A and has just been updated with version C software?

The unit has a manufacture date of April 2008.

It is the oldest unit available pal. When you upgrade the software it changes the part number as well. As official there is no any further upgrade for A version than 2xxx. C gets D and similar.
