USB socket
« on: July 30, 2017, 09:30:17 pm »
Hi all, I'm in the process at the moment of upgrading the stereo in my car from a RNS MFD2 to a RC 330 Plus.

I've taken the changer out already as it was faulty and was just going to replace with a single din pocket in the armrest for storage. I am wondering though about using the old cabling for the changer to power a USB socket for charging only in the armrest. Would it be best to take the 12 volt feed from the rear of the RCD 330 or will that upset the CAN BUs? I'm thinking it might be easier to use the 12 volt cigarette light/aux feed below the stereo? Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks
