Hey people had the rear passenger wheel bearing explode big time and the noise was so laud even the car behind thought the noise was from there car lol but just wondered if its a job you could do at home ?

you can do it at home but easier on a ramp...The bolt that holds the bearing in is a special m socket (cant remember the size)which are tight and needs a big breaker bar

As above i have done it on the drive, biggest hurdle is the caliper carrier. You need m14 for that and m18 spline for the hub bolt.

Good quality and perfect fit. Not a hard job if you've got the tools.

P.S. No warning? They normally make a noise for months before they do this.

Thanks for the advice I've got a friend who has a massive tool set up so will ask him to borrow the tools required 👍 and will give an update when sorted...once again thanks guys

Easy job  :happy2:

I bought the VW triple square tool from the dealer.  It’s a big 3/4 drive bugger! Bought a 3/4” drive 4 foot breaker bar to go with it.  It was a breeze.  The right tools makes any job much easier  :smiley:

Never heard of one exploding before!! Did the wheel angle change?
