may in help in some circumstances where you want to 'allow' certain people access to a 'thread' or 'post'

e.g.

track day tyres FAQ

It would be good for me to pick contributors that I can 'allow'  to edit my original post.  :happy2:

I dont want to form access 'clubs' but I do feel that sometimes, the original poster being able to grant access to one or more people to edit a post/thread would help to the colloborative spirit  :happy2:

....*cough!* TC *cough* Need I say more?

As long as the OP has absolute control about who is allowed to edit their original post.

I can see how it would work well in some of your threads, John, but not for all Reviews.
