Removing Trim Around Interior Overhead Light Cluster

Hi,

Firstly this is for a MkV  GT not GTi   (yes I will do suitable penance for posting in a GTi forum :-))

I want to run a power lead for a dashboard car cam from the overhead light cluster (to avoid a mess running the supplied lead from the cigarette lighter socket by the gear stick to the cam mounted behind the mirror), the bit with the cubby hole, map light etc. that sits above your head just behind the rear view mirror.  I can't find anything that tells me how to get the trim apart, other than the black bit that sits round the mirror stalk has always been loose.

I also need guidance on where to take the supply from, e.g.  apparently some circuits will be affected by the current drain and may trigger the alarm or cause warning lights to come on.

I know that I will have to include the circuit that comes with the cigarette lighter adapter to get the 12v supply down to 5v so I may well need space to include the adapter in the light cluster
