Full milltek
« on: June 03, 2011, 05:53:10 pm »
Hi advice please . Can I fit a full Milltek from the manifold to the exit off the car as in rear tips ? .I have a stock ED30 and thought it would be nice to treat her to a nice Stainless system ..

Being thick ,I read the milltek site and thought to have a sports cat i must have a stage two map ?

I really just want a nice exhaust sound if there are any gains great but stainless front to back would be sweet , I guess its circa £1k

Thanks as always sorry to be dumb

I have a full milltek system on mine and its a great bit of kit, you can fit just the cat-back without any problems but i think if you fit the downpipe with a sports cat you may get fault lights come up if its a standard car??!!

You only really get gains if you fit the downpipe and a map to suit as its less restrictive than the standard exhaust, then it also depends if you fit a resonated or non-resonated cat back as to how loud you want the car to be when you give it the beans  :driver:

£1k is about right for a full milltek TBE

Paul what you describe is what people call a TBE - Turbo Back Exhaust.

I've been running my S3 with just the Downpipe and Cat connected to the OEM rear section on OEM software and didn't get any CEL's.

Does the resonated exhaust (cat back) sound much louder than stock ? I've always liked a stainless steel exhaust on my cars but wouldn't want loud all the time just a sporty note on hard acceleration, I noticed on a test drive today the lack of any real sporty note with the stock exhaust (didn't stop me buying the car though

Its quieter than stock when driving gently, but its louder when you boot it

The non res about the same as stock on normal driving, but sounds superb when you boot it. Really expensive sound  :signLOL:
