Accelerator pedal issue??
« on: April 06, 2016, 08:36:05 pm »
Has anyone ever experienced a sticky accelerator pedal?

My 07 ED30 pedal seems to feel slightly odd in operation. It is quite firm initially and almost feels as though something is stuck behind it but nothing is.
I can get full travel but it doesn't feel like it should.

I can't see any objects fouling the operation.

I have had Bilsteins fitted today and the mechanic commented on it too.

Any ideas?

Can you achieve full throttle? Haven't heard of it myself.

Try *very* liberally applying some cleaning products at the pivot point (bottom of the pedal).

I thought I had this issue, but some rubbish mats kept moving and blocking the accelerator pedal. Fixed with proper mats.

Problem now fixed!!

Simple one as well, we have a gravel drive way and a piece of gravel had found its way behind the bottom of the accelerator pedal. It wasn't easy to remove but it is out and all the power is back!

Thank f*ck for that, I couldn't see it the first time I checked as it was a black stone. I have been pricing up replacement pedals for the last few days, they aren't cheap but fortunately not required!!
