Ed30 with TBE
« on: November 24, 2011, 01:44:19 pm »
Hi All - so the modifications continue and although I have a Milltek cat back, I am looking to turn this into a full TBE soon on my standard eddy. Has anyone on here with an ed30 run it 'non-chipped' with a TBE and did you notice any improvements in performance? Tried to search but most guys chip the car as well. I am going to revo it next year but I am interested if my money will buy a few more noticable ponies  :happy2:

Hello there,
One of my friends just had an itg intake and a turbo back Milltek exhaust put on his Edition 30 running standard software, he got 262bhp!.
He found there was a few flat spots, but that all got sorted when he got his revo remap.
I hope that helps

Thanks
Hassan

I've just put a tbe vwracing exhaust on my ed30 with a p-flo induction kit.

Watching it on my boost gauge it's boostin the same albeit 2-3psi less, making a better sound, doesn't seem to pull as hard and has a few flat spots throughout the rev range. But apart from that it's causing no problems!

You 100% need a map to make a downpipe work or the free flowing system won't do it any good

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box

TBE on a standard car may cause a dashboard checklight to appear...
Without traction power is nothing!

'touchwood' after many starts of the engine and 200miles I have no warning lights on the dash.

And yes I 100% need a remap to make it worthwhile and will be doing so but as it is now it's causing no problems.

Interesting - I will start saving for the map  ....and hope I dont get any lights. I understand you may be ok with a 200cell.  Did you notice any improvement in performance at any point in the rev range?

While were on the subhect, which did you go for? Resonated or non?

I'm just looking into an exhaust for mine. I want it fairly loud but not too droney in the car? Will be getting a full de cat too...

From the point of view of a cat back, I went non res and can not imagine how quiet a res system must be. They are not loud exhausts but a de cat may make some difference? I did not want a loud exhaust either just more sporty.
