Hope I don't look silly....but I didn't know that the oil will take a good 5-15 mins to warm up after the water has reached operation temperature.  On a MK5 how do you find the oil temp and what is Polar FIS+ ?

This means I won't be able to give my car "some" on the commute to work........probably be good for me as it'll help keep my license clean....

I have been speaking to a few people about this warming up issue (not mechanics) and they did mention that German cars do take a while to warm and don't really work best on short journeys but on longer journeys.....though I'm sure this is probably true of most cars.

On my old car i had a aftermarket oil gauge that i plumbed in and i can say yes it takes a a good 5-10minutes after the water temp is up for the oil to be up.
