Heard a lot of bad reports about them now since they are built in china now the build quality is really poor. My mechanic says dont touch 1 with a bargepole

Get a catback from Powervalve or from EMP Performance, for example. I love my Powervalve TBE.

New millteks are 2.75" so if you get a 3" downpipe you'll need some form of reducer.

I wasn't aware that they are made in china but the quality of my vrs cat back is much worse than my old ST system.

There's good China, and there's bad China.  Pay them peanuts and you'll get cloned peanuts in return.  Pay them a decent amount and they'll make you a super high quality iPhone 7.

I notice Milltek have copied APR and gone with cast stainless for the turbo outlet and OEM style flex joints, which is great to see.   I still wouldn't buy one.  They are the most over rated exhausts I've ever had the displeasure of owning.  Very average quality thin walled tubing and the silencer carcasses aren't much to shout about either.   Milltek are great at stepping up the quality for a certain market that generates them more income though.   VRS scene, not as big as the ST scene, for example.

Good point about the more obscure stuff being of lesser quality, don't get me wrong the system is fine and sounds good, it's just not as pretty looking as my old ST one, not that you can see it anyway.
