Chance of resetting your re-map?
« on: November 14, 2012, 12:49:39 pm »
I had the cambelt and water pump changed recently and i read a few opinions that there is a possibility that the car would revert to the standard Turbo settings when the battery was disconnected!?

Is there any truth in this? Seems a bit far fetched seen as people have to regularly disconnect the battery.

The remap was on the car when i got it so i've never driven a standard GTi (and therefore can notice the difference) and beginning to get paranoid i'm not getting full joy out of it!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Should also note that the garage were told not to update/flash the ECU

Don't get confused with what people are saying, the map will not get removed from the ECU by disconnecting the battery. It may revert to revo stock but all is required is access to a Revo SPS switch to put it back onto the stored performance map.

Thanks for that, Dom. Think i'll find my nearest Revo dealer and maybe just get them to do a quick check of everything.
