....And it applies particularly to those who are serving out in Afghanistan and similar situations.  :happy2:

Stay safe Mike, and all the best for the New Year.

Give us your BFPO so we can send you some mags, sweets, wet wipes, or anything else?

Oh right, I hadn't realised u was in Engrs too. My rehab is over with now, has been for a while but what I do need a bit of luck with is they're thinking of chopping more of my leg off cos of some problems I'm getting when fitting prosthetics on. Just waiting out on MRI n X-ray now.

Anyway, hope to speak to you soon! Take care mate

I hope you don't find this distasteful, given you're still on the road to recovery, but take a look at this.

I know Maj Jim Cameron quite well, and he's such a fantastic bloke, as are the rest of the team. If what he does can help you, just ask.

Mike.  :happy2:

Thanks for the kind words lads.  :drinking:

No point in giving out the address as nothing's going to reach me.

Thanks for that Mike, I've just signed up to them a couple weeks ago haha going seeing them on the Britcar stand at the Auto Show & PH Performance Car Show at NEC next weekend.

I know one of the drivers on their team, Jimmy Gillborn, he's the one who got me interested but I know a few other lads who have gone through them and got vocational work at places like Porsche restoration garages etc. I'm going to Uni tho so wont need vocational work and will just be hoping to get driving, even if it's only the practices where they'll sort me out with track days basically :)

I don't find it distasteful, don't worry about that! I'm one of those usual kind of squaddies who always jokes about with it all like putting my prosthetic leg on back to front and answering the door to the kids at halloween. I even have had to use it as protection from time to time when being attacked, I just take it off, swing it over my shoulder n advise them not to step any closer, it usually does the trick... possibly because they haven't a clue what has just happened haha

I'm pretty much at the end of my recovery, got really far, even completed The Great North Run, 27.5km Triathlon & The Great Manchester 10km Run in 2011 but I've had a lot of set backs recently and struggle a lot at the moment but it's only a speedbump, wont be long and I'll be back doing my charity stuff. Well saying that I'm doing one in March, an expedition to Norway which will be on ITV sometime further on in the year but we'll see how I get on with that... following the tracks of the special forces back in WW2 which some of you may have heard of (The Heroes of Telemark).

Sorry for hijacking the thread too!  :innocent:
