Just re-read your first reply on this thread and wondering if you have a new canbus gateway or just the canbus adapter that comes with the unit?? This is a newer unit (production starting circa 2011) so a lot of the functions are programmed to work with the newer mk6 canbus gateway. The adapter that it comes with will integrate some of the features from the mk5 golf (mfsw, mute etc) but some wont be supported by our bus.

I'm in the process of ordering a newer gateway which should give me all of the functionality available. Will update once it's all done

Thanks Gene. Positivity is always good and as long as I know it can be done ill keep trying. I've fitted it all myself so these kind of problems are expected I guess. I just need to try and find the correct wire and then take the dash apart for the third time lol.

Sound quality is sooo much better with these units I'm sure you'll agree
..............sound quality is spot on,even my wife commented the first time we played cd/ipod on it how good it sounds. Not shure if your's is sat nav/dvd? but if it is you can have dvd in motion working as well. Again can't help with getting that working as it was when i got the car but as before just wanted to point it out to you. :happy2:
ED35. Standard factory condition.

Just to let you guys know there's an firmware update to improve Radio Reception from Pioneer http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/25/111/AVIC-F9310BT/media.html

I'm 99% sure this unit doesn't show directions on the DIS regardless of CAN BUS etc.

There is also updated Maps / Firmware available however Pioneer want to charge £120 for it http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/GBP/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductUUID=O4YKCghB1s0AAAE2e8YisL9t&CatalogCategoryID=O14KCghB3zMAAAE22O8isLvB

However if you head over to Avic411.com there's always another way :)

I'm loving the unit so far, only just installed it (which is very straight forward), sound quality is much improved even through standard speakers (I have a Touran, sure its the same for the Golf)

^^^^^Agree with all of the above. Its a great stereo for the money.

And the firmware upgrade was super easy, just did it on a half hour drive back from work. The AppMode works very well.

This head unit in conjunction with my Alpine sub sounds amazing  :happy2:
